Rental Conditions

At Rent a Phone, we want to ensure that the process of renting our equipment is simple, clear, and transparent. Therefore, we present the conditions applicable to our rental services:

 

1. Available Equipment

All equipment available for hire is delivered in perfect working order. Photographic records will be taken prior to delivery to ensure that no one is held responsible for pre-existing damage. It is the customer’s responsibility to return the equipment in the same condition as it was received, except for natural wear and tear resulting from proper use.

 

2. Rental Period

• The rental period will be defined at the time of booking.

• If it is necessary to extend the rental period, the customer must contact us in advance for the request to be approved and updated.

• Late returns will be subject to daily penalties as they may jeopardise a subsequent rental to another customer.

 

3. Payments and Security Deposit

• The total rental amount must be paid at the time of booking.

• To safeguard the goods, a security deposit will be requested. This amount will be refunded immediately after the equipment is returned and inspected.

• In the event of damage, late return or loss of parts, the security deposit may be retained in part or in full. This decision will always be made after contacting the customer.

• Replacement of screen protection films due to falls or misuse by the customer and/or during the rental period costs €2 for smartphones and €4 for tablets. Replacement of Rent a Phone product labelling costs €0.50. These amounts will be deducted from the security deposit, if applicable.

 

4. Customer Responsibilities

• The customer undertakes to use the equipment properly and safely.

• The customer is liable for any damage caused by misuse, negligence, or accidents.

• In the event of loss or theft, the customer shall compensate the value corresponding to the equipment or accessories – Deposit amount relating to the equipment in question.

 

5. Delivery and Returns

• Equipment will be delivered and returned on site or by a previously agreed carrier.

• In the event of changes, any additional transport costs will be borne by the customer.

• Returns must comply with the agreed deadlines to avoid penalties.

 

6. Cancellations

• Cancellations made up to [3 days] before the rental start date will receive a full refund.

• Cancellations outside this period may be subject to penalties.

 

7. Damage and Inspection

• After return, the equipment will be inspected.

• If damage is identified, we will provide a repair estimate that will be deducted from the deposit or charged to the customer.

 

8. Insurance and Liability

• NBBC Unipessoal Lda (owner of Rent.a.Phone) is not liable for personal injury, material damage or indirect damage caused by the use of the equipment.

• We recommend that customers take out usage insurance, if applicable.

 

9. Conflict Resolution

• In case of doubts or conflicts, we will always try to find an amicable solution.

• If this is not possible, disputes will be resolved in the courts of the District of Lisbon.
